What a yucky start to the day....
It is always sad when we don't get to finish everything we have planned for the day. Maybe it was the weather, but the kids were not so enjoyable to teach: lots of bickering, arguing, talking, and not wanting to be productive. We had many kids show up late today (due to the snow), and many kids leave early (also due to snow!) The sad part is we have 5 weeks before the state test so we don't have time for this. I left today feeling defeated and unhappy.
- 1st - Test Prep ELA we went over two questions and went back to the text and dug around for clues to help us solve the questions. After that, we broke into our Book Club groups and read. My group is about half way into our Wayside School novel. The kids really enjoy the author's writing style and humor.
- 2nd - ReadyGen 3A.10 - we started talking about how the author writes using his senses. That was the big focus as we read pages 14-16 in the Quake! text.
- 3rd - Science with Ms. Galan (Mr. Hoffman was not in today, so the kids got to have science!)
- 4th - STAR MATH TESTING
- 5th - Finished ReadyGen and then moved into GoMath 7.5. Today the focus was solving word problems with addition and subtraction of fractions with like denominators.
- 6th - Lunch
- 7th - Finished Math and then cleaned the room.
