As you get ready to write your legend....

Probably the most important part of the writing process is toward the end...

Editing and Revision...

During editing, writers check mainly to be sure a piece of writing is correct and makes sense, but they also look for errors in conventions.

Writers check mainly to be certain there are no errors in conventions, though writers can make other changes, if necessary.

Think about these questions as you edit and proofread narrative text:
• I have clearly told experiences or events and included dialogue and clear descriptive details.
• I have included an event sequence that unfolds naturally and makes sense.
• I have correctly used a variety of transitional words and phrases to manage the sequence of events.
• I have included a clear conclusion that naturally follows the narrated experiences or events.
• All conventions are correct. All proper nouns are capitalized, all dialogue is correctly punctuated, and all words are spelled correctly.
