The talking is out of control. I had to call several houses today because the kids just didn't want to work, and only wanted to talk. NOT GOOD!
The kids had Dance today and they were so cute learning the Fox Trot. I sat in the back and just smiled. SO CUTE! Of course, there are a few boys who still need to mature who refuse to hold hands with a girl.
We continued with our novel "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" and the kids are starting to see the characters traits clearly, be able to pull out details to support their claims, and even see the problem development of the plot.
We started a new text today in ReadyGen called "How the Stars Fell in the Sky". It is a Native American Legend about how the stars came to be in the sky. By the way, a legend is an old story that is passed down by generations that might have some truth in it (usually not), that explains something in nature. We worked on using "dialogue" quite a bit today.
Math was a review day. We did the chapter review at the end of the chapter and went over it. It was really pretty intense.
The students did Waggle ELA today.
After lunch, we finished the Chapter Review and looked at the "More Practice" for homework. We ended the day talking about how bad they were and that the question of going on a field trip was up in the air.
HOmework:
Write 2 paragraphs: Introduce two characters, explain about them, and use some dialogue.
Read for 35-45 minutes and write in journal.
Math - Practice 109-110
